Heavyweight Bikes

These bikes typically boast engine displacement greater than 800ccs. All that power comes with a price; heavyweight bikes top the scales over 400 pounds and often have lower ground clearance than other classes of dual sports. They have greater weight management capacity, and are the most comfortable way to travel 2-up. They are also favored by people who like to pack large quantities of gear.

Ride Description:

It's kind of short notice, but I'm going to go for a ride.  The plan is to meet at the Chevron at Warm Springs and Broadway.  Departure time is 9:00AM.

We'll head up toward Idaho City on back roads.  From there, we will probably go toward Pilot Peak either via Pioneerville or Bear Run Road out of Idaho City.

I would recommend taking something to snack on.  We will be in the vicinity of Idaho City and a trip to town for a burger is possible, we might also just keep riding.

Exploring the great unknown

Hey all,  It’s been a while since a new ride report has been put up and with all the stay at home stuff going on I have some time to put a ride report together for all of you!   When I first looked over the 2020 Moto Idaho challenge sites I seen a new to me town called Mineral.   So I Googled it and found out it was a old school mining town.  Since I was heading that way I wanted to pick up a couple other challenge sites in the area, the warm springs and sand du

Ride Description:

I'm jonesing for one more ride.  My countershaft seal is leaking, but I'll just bring more oil.  Succor Creek, Leslie Gulch, Jump Creek Falls and Devil's gate are challenge sites in the area.  I plan on a brisk pace as usual for my rides.

I doubt that there will be very many places to stop for food, so come prepared or go hungry...
