12MAY2020 - ‘Cause Four Outta Five Ain’t Bad
My plan was to trailer the TransAlp down to Gooding and start a 300 mile loop to hit five sites:

02 - Little City of Rocks
22 - Bear Trap Cave
21 - Albion Normal School
23 - City of Rocks
24 - Evel Knievel Jump Site

This proved to be an overly ambitious goal. I only got the first four. But, in the immortal words of Meatloaf from 1977; “don’t be sad ‘cause two outta three (or four outta five) ain’t bad.”

21 - Albion Normal School
Once back on pavement (riding south from Bear Trap Cave) I headed south to Rupert to get fuel for both me and the bike. I can highly recommend the Sriracha Chicken Wrap available in the Deli section of the Ridley's Family Market on HWY 24. Riding east out of Rupert I caught ID-25 (which for some reason turns into ID-77 when you cross the interstate) and rode into Albion and to the Normal School. After a photo, I sat on the hillside in front of the school and ate my chicken wrap. It was exquisite.

Hopping back on the bike I began riding south through town when a five-ship of wild turkey decided to stand in the middle of ID-77 and initiate a stare-down contest with me. The wimpy horn on the TransAlp had no effect whatsoever, and revving a 600cc Honda V-Twin impresses no one. So I waited a bit and a F250 Diesel pickup came charging up the highway toward the birds and me. They laid on a real horn while slowing slightly, and this motivated the recalcitrant birds to vacate the pavement. Next stop – #23 - City of Rocks.

Great place to visit.  I've had family reunions at the school in the past.  Love it.
