17APR2020 - It was a bright and chilly day... The Stage Stop temp sign registered a brisk 38degrees as BillBart, Cuprum Hermit, and I rode past at 8:20 am heading toward Simco Road to pick up our next two Challenge sites: 03-Titan Missile Base and 04-Bruneau Canyon Overlook. From the Simco exit, we headed southeast following back roads to the CJ Strike reservoir. The parking lot was almost overflowing with pickups and small boat trailers – fishing is apparently a major “social distancing” activity around there. The two big KTMs and my GS made short work of the easy pavement and graded dirt road that get you out to the Missile Base, where toxic substances are now stored deep underground. We got our pictures, and after a minor false start, headed east on Missile Base Road (all the roads out there are called Missile base Road) which was well-maintained gravel and motored toward our next location for the day – the Bruneau Canyon Overlook.
