My second challenge point for the year! I got a text from a friend on Friday PM asking if I'd come up with a pavement route for a “Screw the Virus” ride on Saturday. I'm the new guy in Idaho, so I'm not sure why I got tapped for mapping duties, but I said yes and came up with a loop that started and ended in Caldwell that hit, in order: the south shore of Lake Lowell, Map Rock, Celebration Park, Swan Falls and Initial Point. With wind gusts predicted for +30mph by mid-afternoon, we left at 1015. By stying in the lowlands, we avoided most of the wind - except on the leg back north from the dam. It was a bit of a challenge dodging dozens of tumbleweeds between it and Kuna. A pleasant 3 hr loop with stops. All pavement but very scenic.
