Juntura Ride and Pictures - Seamus

I was curious as to whether my G650 X would give me enough range to cover 124 miles between Gas stops, and had packed two MSR bottles in my back pack just in case. I knew that at least that would get me to the Gas Station. As it turned out, I ran out of gas just after the restaurant and emptied my 2 x 30 oz MSR bottles inside.

I had left my house in Boise / GC area at around 7am in the bitter cold and after about 3 miles, I was really feeling it. My chest and feet were OK and could make the 45 mile trek to Nyssa however my legs and hands were really freezing and at one point I almost turned back. I cant recall ever being that cold or maybe I am just getting old...!  I remember thinking that I would hate to be out in a Kilt on a morning like this. I had left early to give me enough time at the "meet" to defrost and have coffee and BS but alas, I was not able to make it straight shot. I pulled over at a Sinclair station west of the 84 and had to have a break from the cold and get some feeling back in my finger tips. After defrosting for about 20 minutes, I got back on and rode to Nyssa.I cant wait until my blood thickens up with this cold weather up here.....!

I very much liked the ride today especially the rocky stony hill climb. I was so glad that I struggled through the initial cold weather and made the ride, it was well worth the effort.

I am starting to get used to the MUD as well...Basically don't trust it. I had a small low speed spill in a mud pool. No damage evident at this point , just some muddy clothing..
